We touched grass with our community, ecosystem and partners across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
September was the busiest month since we started ZetaChain two years ago. With more than 2 million people from 215+ countries around the world, we are ramping up in-person events, Zeta App Ecosystem campaigns, developer-focused channels, and grants leading up to mainnet — that’s why we were present at four major Web3 events this month.
Let’s recap!
Stanford Blockchain Conference
We kicked off a crazily hectic month of events and community activities with the Stanford Blockchain Conference, a two-day show focused on technical innovation around the blockchain ecosystem.
We co-hosted the DeFi Yield Machine event with 11 other Web3 partners. Also, Jonathan Covey, ZetaChain’s head of community, was a featured speaker at the Ignite Stanford side event.
To keep the energy levels high around the conference, we ran a coffee event the next morning alongside Halborn — one of our security partners — and Sushi.
Events are all about getting together in the evening, though, and we co-sponsored The Builder’s Night, a side event of the Science of Blockchain Conference 2023, which included fireside chats, panel discussions and networking sessions to connect builders in the blockchain space.
Korea Blockchain Week
It was then over to Seoul for Korea Blockchain week, which we kicked off as a co-sponsor to the Grand Party, the official KBW after party.
We joined many side-event panel discussions, including the workshop we ran as a co-sponsor for the DSRV Builder’s House: Sarangbang!
Forging new connections is a big part of the Web3 experience, but we also spent time with existing friends and met plenty of our community members, too.
We finished our time in Seoul with a private ZetaChain lunch for close partners and new relationships formed at KBW.
The KBW show itself was buzzing with energy and innovation. Korea is one of the world’s most forward-thinking markets for Web3 adoption and community participation, and the week was a reflection of that.
Token 2049 (Singapore)
We stayed in Asia, but hopped over to Singapore for Token 2049, one of the world’s largest Web3 events which attracted over 10,000 attendees from Asia and beyond.
We had a booth at the main show, where we met countless developers, partners and community members.
But Token 2049 is all about the side events — more than 100 take place around the official show — and we took part and co-hosted three:
10 September: DApp Growth Con
A precursor to Token 2049, this event focused on all things decentralized apps (dapps). Jonathan Covey, ZetaChain’s head of community, moderated a panel on cross-chain interoperability with speakers from Consensys, zKMe, Blocto, and CMT Digital.
12 September: Sky9 Web3 Kickoff Party by ZetaChain, CyberConnect, Ethstorage
We held a very vibrant evening party with our friends at Sky9 Capital, CyberConnect and Ethstorage
14 September: Erase borders, Build the Future
This four hour event included panels and interviews that focused on how Web3 can build a future that transcends boundaries and focuses on innovation. Denis Fadeev, our head of developer experience, was part of a panel around Defi middleware and infrastructure and he gave a keynote speech on blockchain interoperability.
Mainnet (New York)
We were back in the US, New York to be precise, for Messari’s huge Mainnet event from September 20.
We hosted a workspace and office hours for all Mainnet attendees and Zeta App developers and users. And then we got into the party spirit again as co-sponsors of the official Mainnet VIP party.
ETH Global Week (New York)
As is often the case in Web3, one major event prompts lots of other events to help maximize opportunities to network and do business. Thanks to Mainnet, the entire week became ETH Global Week.
We signed off the festival in style as co-sponsor of the 1inch closing party — “A Night of DeFi Enchantment” that was dedicated to all things ‘Old Fashioned’ including cover music, cocktails and great food.
Cosmoverse
It was over to Istanbul, Turkey, for Cosmoverse on October 2. Denis was again in action, discussing the breakthrough potential of omnichain smart contracts, which can be deployed on any chain including even Bitcoin.
Online events
Our activity wasn’t just limited to in-person events, we were busy with a series of exciting online competitions and shows too, including:
Inside the ZetaChain ecosystem with OKX
Core members of our team, and developers from our ecosystem, discussed the concept of multichain blockchains and how we operate at ZetaChain.
Intract Community Roundtable
Jonathan Covey was part of a panel of star-studded ecosystem growth leaders who discussed their experiences and advice for marketing and community growth.
Bitcoin smart contracts
We held an online ZetaRadio roundtable from some of the brightest minds who are pioneering the new frontier of Bitcoin smart contracts.
You can listen to a full replay of the insightful discussion here. Don’t miss details on the current state of Bitcoin tooling, interoperability, apps, NFTs and more.
If you’re keen on building on Bitcoin, the result of our BTC Challenge Hackathon will be published soon after the deadline for submissions passed on 6 October:
There’s also more to come, and we’ll be present at the following events (and likely more) over the next three months:
ETH Hong Kong: 22–24 October 2023
DevConnect (Istanbul): 13–19 November 2023
ETHGlobal Istanbul: 17–19 November 2023
ETHGlobal India (Bangalore): 8–10 December 2023
