ZetaChain is committed to building the world’s largest interoperability blockchain network as a public utility. Upon the release of Athens, ZetaChain’s long-term testnet, we are pleased to share another significant step towards decentralization — the open-sourcing of ZetaChain’s node software. Alongside the docs site, protocol contracts, example contracts, and more, we are proud to announce the complete open-source availability of ZetaChain’s core technologies.
What’s Included in the Update
Open-sourcing of the node repository, which reflects the latest code operating on the testnet.
Availability of node documentation to understand the various modules and APIs involved in the node beyond pure code.
Updated readme for the repository, teaching community participants how to build on it.
This release provides complete transparency and access to code so validators and developers can more effectively build on ZetaChain:
Validators: The open-sourced code makes it easier to leverage existing workflows that include building from the source and provides better clarity into the binaries they are running.
Developers: Provides a greater level of trust and understanding of the source of ZetaChain and how it actually works. Greater transparency will help the developer ecosystem learn more about building on the ZetaChain network, including even those focused at the application and contract level.
Empowering Anyone to Contribute to ZetaChain
With the open-sourcing of ZetaChain’s node software, anyone in the world can easily and publicly contribute to ZetaChain. Together, with a growing ecosystem of contributors, we will develop additional resources and devtools to empower development on ZetaChain, and more broadly, a more universally accessible crypto ecosystem. We look forward to collaborating on new protocol features, additional documentation, and other improvements. Reach out with your thoughts, questions, or concerns about this important evolution for ZetaChain and the ecosystem.
About ZetaChain
ZetaChain is the world’s first and only decentralized EVM-compatible L1 blockchain with built-in cross-chain interoperability, connecting all blockchains, even non-smart contract chains like Bitcoin and Dogecoin. With ZetaChain’s complete Omnichain toolkit, developers can build true omnichain dApps from a single point of logic, and users can access all of their assets, data, and liquidity in a single place, securely.
Follow ZetaChain on Twitter @zetablockchain and join the conversation on Discord and Telegram. Reach out to [email protected] if you’re building on top of ZetaChain.
Any projects mentioned are 3rd party, not ZetaChain.
