ZetaChain is ramping up work with developers and key ecosystem stakeholders as we prepare for our upcoming mainnet launch. An important part of that is validators who play a crucial role in running, maintaining and securing the blockchain network, and that’s why we’ve partnered with Figment.

Figment is a leading blockchain infrastructure and services provider which works with over 250 institutional clients. The company has raised over $165 million from investors, and it was last valued at $1.4 billion.

Figment will support all Validator role types

Figment will run a core validator, observer validator, and a TSS signer validator for the ZetaChain network. Here’s a very brief overview — visit our whitepaper for more details:

  • Core Validators: These provide consensus for ZetaCore (ZetaChain’s base blockchain). These will support general PoS mechanics and delegation from users.

  • Observer Validators: These observe external chains and send relevant events to the Core Validators.

  • TSS Signer Validators: When ZetaChain wants to write receiving info from Core Validators transactions to different chains, it uses a network of TSS Signers to write in a decentralized manner.

Figment’s involvement alongside other validators is crucial to managing transactions and security on the network, enabling developers to easily deploy omnichain Dapps that support all chains, with low gas fees and speedy transactions.

In addition to network support, Figment will also enable staking services on ZetaChain once the mainnet instance is live.

We’re beyond excited to not only enable developers to build omnichain Dapps on the ZetaChain network, but also enable users with any digital asset to play games, take part in DeFi services, and more. We also look forward to providing digital asset holders on ZetaChain an opportunity to stake tokens, backed by Figment’s infrastructure.

Here’s a recap of the role that validators play in the ZetaChain network architecture:

About ZetaChain

ZetaChain is the world’s first and only decentralized EVM-compatible L1 blockchain with built-in cross-chain interoperability, connecting all blockchains, even non-smart contract chains like Bitcoin and Dogecoin. With ZetaChain’s complete Omnichain toolkit, developers can build true omnichain dApps from a single point of logic, and users can access all of their assets, data, and liquidity in a single place, securely.
