We’re accelerating development of the ZetaChain ecosystem as we get closer to launch. Now, we’re taking an important step for ZetaChain dApp developers and users to provide a key multi-signature (multisig) wallet in partnership with Protofire. The ZetaChain Safe is powered by Safe — one of the most trusted decentralized custody protocols and collective asset management platforms.

Why multi-sig?

Existing systems with single signature crypto wallets works fine for individual users, but our newest partner Protofire’s offering of Safe is for organizations and entities that need a more sophisticated setup. With Safe, no single person is responsible for managing assets.

Multisig wallets operate by requiring two or more private keys to sign off on transactions. That limits the potential for a malicious actor to gain control of a wallet. Beyond the safety consideration, the Safe system is also an efficient way for organizations of scale to make decisions and manage assets.

Multisig wallets are a must for major dApp developers, DAOs, Web3-native organizations, investment funds, protocols, exchanges, DEXes, and other major stakeholders. Our work with Protofire to create the ZetaChain Safe will elevate dApp building opportunities in the ZetaChain ecosystem.

Why Safe?

Safe is one of the most reputable decentralized custody protocols and collective asset management platforms. First launched in 2018, Safe wallets are responsible for securing tens of billions of US dollars of digital assets across a range of EVM-compatible blockchains.

Protofire works directly with the Gnosis Safe team on technology development, and it deployed Safe and forks of Safe on chains and protocols including Scroll, Rootstock, Oasis, IoTeX, and Moonbeam. We’re grateful to add ZetaChain to that list!
