Coinbase Wallet takes a big step towards omnichain

ZetaChain support in Coinbase Wallet enables users to seamlessly transact and experience omnichain dApps across any network from one place. Omnichain dApps, also known as Omnichain Smart Contracts, can send data and value between any connected blockchain including Ethereum, BSC, and even non-smart chains such as Bitcoin. Omnichain Smart Contracts introduce a new standard called ZRC-20, which enables apps to manage native assets on connected chains without wrapping or locking tokens.

Note, ZetaChain’s inclusion in the allowed network list by Coinbase Wallet means that users can easily switch to ZetaChain without the hassle of adding a custom network.

Learning Rewards launch on ZetaChain

ZetaChain is excited to launch phase one of Coinbase Learning Rewards, first accessible only to an initial user group. Learning Rewards on Coinbase is designed to reward users in ZETA for learning about ZetaChain technology and its growing omnichain dApp ecosystem. A select group of initial users can access a series of Learning Lessons and discover the ins-and-outs of ZetaChain while earning ZETA. The program will open to more Coinbase users over time.

Users in phase one will get access to quests that involve trying out features on ZetaHub through Coinbase Wallet — ZetaChain’s entry point portal into the ZetaChain ecosystem. In addition to engaging in quests such as Send ZETA and Stake ZETA, these users can enroll in XP and explore dApp activities. Altogether, the program helps Coinbase users learn about ZetaChain while earning ZETA rewards within their Coinbase account.

Welcoming Coinbase Wallet users to ZetaHub XP

The Learning Rewards program introduces users to ZetaHub’s XP program. XP is an on-chain loyalty program that shows off your ZetaChain experiences to the community. It’s built to support the entire ecosystem as a way to measure activity and build community onchain. Learn more about XP and ZetaHub here.

Now that the Coinbase Wallet natively supports the ZetaChain network, users can easily go to ZetaHub, enroll in ZetaHub XP, and explore the ecosystem.

Layer 2 Base to extend to all chains

Coinbase Wallet support for ZetaChain raises the potential for an exciting, future opportunity to enable full interoperability to dApps in the Base ecosystem. Base is a secure, low-cost, builder-friendly Ethereum L2 built to bring Coinbase users and the next billion users onchain.

The Base-ZetaChain partnership could produce an ecosystem of more versatile cross-chain applications such as a cross-chain swap, DEX, multichain NFTs, and more. These applications offer greater levels of liquidity and capital-efficiency for transferring native assets between Base and other chains — even the Bitcoin network.
