8.4M active wallets on Polygon can now access Universal Apps on ZetaChain

At ZetaChain, our mission is to power Universal Apps that span all chains from native Bitcoin and Ethereum to Cosmos, Solana and beyond. That’s why we created the first universal blockchain to support an abstracted chain UX across crypto — whether a user is on Bitcoin, an EVM, L2, or somewhere else. Today, ZetaChain Mainnet Beta now connects to Polygon and its community of 8.4 million active wallets to the Universal Blockchain ecosystem.

Access Universal Apps without switching from Polygon

A Universal App is a smart contract on ZetaChain’s EVM that is natively connected to other blockchains now including Polygon. Universal Apps can both natively access and be accessed from any connected chain without requiring users to switch networks. For example, a Bitcoin user can now interact with a Universal App to send USDC to a recipient on Polygon. A Polygon user can buy an NFT on ZetaChain and send it to their account on the BNB chain — all in one step. Crypto users can access all of crypto on any chain without leaving their preferred wallet on Polygon.

You can now View, Pool, and Send assets on Polygon in ZetaHub. Universal Apps building on ZetaChain can turn on support for Polygon.

Easily build for Polygon and other diverse chains

With Polygon chain support, developers can build Universal Apps on ZetaChain that manage Polygon tokens like POL/MATIC, USDC, and USDT, with native DeFi assets from other chains (L1 gas assets, stablecoins, ERC-20-equivelents such as PEPE, Etc.). Universal Apps are single EVM smart contracts on ZetaChain that only need to be deployed once to gain native access to any blockchain from one place. As ZetaChain supports more chains and assets, Universal Apps gain access to a broader user base and increased liquidity.

Expanding the utility of Polygon for developers

Our latest improvements such as Gateway and cryptographic research and engineering work paves the way for Cosmos IBC and Solana integrations. In the last week, we also made big improvements to developer experience with the release of a new Localnet and Devnet, UniversalKit for ready-to-use React components, and ZetaAI. We will continue to focus on improving developer experience for creating Universal Apps that span all chains.

About ZetaChain

ZetaChain is the first universal L1 blockchain. It serves as the base-layer of the decentralized internet, providing a platform for global access, simplicity, and utility across any blockchain. Zetachain’s Omnichain Smart Contracts on the Universal EVM are purpose-built for general chain abstraction across the entire crypto ecosystem. ZetaChain can connect to any blockchain, from Ethereum and Cosmos to Bitcoin and beyond, enabling unified liquidity, user experience, and data all from a single place. Universal Apps on ZetaChain are future-proof and have full compatibility with both existing and new chain integrations. With a proposed Universal Proof-of-Stake capability, ZetaChain supports staking of assets like native Bitcoin and Ethereum in exchange for rewards, powering unbounded scale for economic security.
