Today, we are thrilled to announce we’re building the first omnichain social network in partnership with CyberConnect, the project behind the very popular decentralized social network Link3.

Web3 brought data and assets back to users, but we still struggle with a massive fragmentation issue. In the current ecosystem, social profile information such as personal connections, credentials, NFT assets, and other growing on-chain data is confined to single blockchains. So if you want to interact with users and apps on different chains, for example, sending payments or playing a game with friends, then you have to hope a cross-chain bridge exists. Even then, connectivity is limited, not to mention existing bridge solutions are insecure.

ZetaChain’s integration into CyberConnect will introduce the first model for a truly omnichain social network. What makes this possible is ZetaChain’s Omnichain Smart Contracts, which can access and manage assets, data, and liquidity on any chain. Initially, CyberConnect’s 1.5 million users will experience omnichain interoperability of their content, NFTs, assets, etc. In the future, we expect to see a whole host of new utilities and apps that let users bring their social profiles to any chain and interact in ways we cannot yet imagine.
